Using Minute Rice:
This makes enough for two small sides.
- 150 ml water
- 85 grams minute rice
- salt to taste
- 1 teaspoon chicken bouillon (omit if making as a side to fish)
- 1 tablespoon parsley
- 1 tablespoon butter (1/4″ slice)
- Add water to small pot, and stir in some salt, parsley and chicken bouillon.
- Bring water to a boil.
- Remove from heat, stir in the rice, then cover the pot for five minutes.
- Add butter and stir to melt.
Using Basmati Rice:
This makes enough for a bed of rice under two dinner entrées.
- 350 ml water
- 150 grams basmati rice
- salt to taste
- Bring salted water to a boil.
- Add the rice, stir, and wait until the water comes back to a full boil. When it does, turn the heat down as low as it can go, and then cover.
- Cook for 15 minutes, then kill the heat and let the rice rest, covered, for 5 minutes.
- Fluff with a fork before serving.
