Wassail Cocktail

  • 1.5 oz cognac
  • 0.5 oz rum
  • 4 oz Wassail batch (Can serve cold as well as hot)

Garnish with apple slices or cranberries

Wassail batch:

  • 1 qt apple cider
  • 2 cups unsweetened pomegranate juice
  • 0.25 cup sugar
  • 1 cup fresh OJ
  • 0.75 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 tsp whole cloves
  • 1 tsp whole allspice
  1. Combine all ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a simmer over medium- low heat.
  2. Cook for at least 1 hour, stirring occasionally.

Party Punch

Per 5 Gallons:

  • 10 to 20 pounds of ice
  • 2.5 handles (1.75 liters) of vodka
  • 4 two liters lemon-lime soda
  • 5 frozen juice mixes
  • Cold water

Mix together and top off with cold water. Double for 10 gallon container.

Grandma’s Eggnog

  • 6 eggs
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tall cans (13 f oz each) PET evaporated milk
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 4 tablespoons vanilla
  • Rum
  • Nutmeg and/or cinnamon
  1. Beat eggs, sugar and salt in 3 quart mixing bowl.
  2. Mix in evaporated milk, cream, vanilla and rum.
  3. Chill. Pour into punch bowl. Sprinkle with nutmeg and/or cinnamon.

Yields: 2 quarts

Frozen Hot Chocolate

  • 4 cups ice
  • 5 packets hot chocolate mix (about 0.71 oz each)
  • 1 and 1/2 cups cold milk
  • Whipped cream

Fill a blender with the ice (to the 4 cup mark). Add cocoa mix and cold milk. Use the high or “ice crush” setting to blend for about 30 to 40 seconds. Makes two large or four small servings.
